Evidence of knitting activity
I finished the front to the toddler sweater last night. It's enormous. The rumors of Debbie Bliss patterns running WAY oversized seem to be true. Here it is. It isn't blocked yet, but I wanted to pop it up here anyway to show it to you.
I'm going to cast on for the first sleeve today. Hopefully I can get enough knitting done on work breaks to be ready to cast on for the back by Friday. That may be wishful thinking, though.
In house news, we found a wonderful place and our offer has been accepted. The engineer's inspection showed nothing unusual for a 100 yr old house. It needs work, but nothing we can't handle. In apartment news, I've accepted an offer on the co-op. I don't want to jinx anything by talking too much (silly, I know). Neither place is in contract yet. But it's just a matter of lawyers now. It looks like this is really going to happen! I'll post some pictures of the inside of the house once it's in contract and I feel safer about saying it'll be ours.

Posted by: MelissaYes, as parent of a two year old, I agree with your comment yesterday that they don't mind at all when gifts arrive a bit late. They are very happy to think that every day is their birthday and that every package, box or bag that shows up in thier house is a gift for them.
And the sweater running big shouldn't be a problem. It aids in layering, and gives a lot of growing room. I'm trying to knit large for my 2 Y/O so that I can see her wearing things longer. Rolled sleeves look fine, and mean that the stains can be hidden more easily by unrolling.
Good luck with your house, moving, and all that. I'm in moving limbo right now - we've got an accepted offer on the place we want, but no one is interested in the one we have. Mumble! I'm envious reading everyone else's good experiences.
Cari, I hope eveything works out. More room for stash?

Anyway, Debbie Bliss designs though they surely look and knit great, are DEFINITIVELY oversized, I just finished a sweater for my 3 years old son and I will be lucky if he can wear it when he gets to school (2 years from now!)

It's hard to get perspective on the toddler sweater, but look at it this way - even if it's a bit roomy, the kid will grow into it.
