Oh, I'm a fickle beast

So much for yarny monogamy. Yes, I intended to stick with the Dolman Updated until it was done, but I got distracted by a bag of Millefili Fine that wanted to be double-stranded and knit into a Chickami NOW. Here it is so far.

It's knitting up fairly quickly at 20 st to 4 in doubled up. The yarn has that slick cottony goodness to it, and lovely deep red blended with copper brown and chocolate. Mmmm. Since I can't wear the Dolman (or any of my other current WIPs) until cool weather returns, I think I'll focus on banging this little tank out before returning to the others. Then again, I could pick that Silk Garden up again in the next ten minutes. I'm kind of impulsive like that. I'm writing today, and it's sometimes hard to predict what my fingers will crave during the work breaks.

My main character has been singing at me today, specifically "Oh, You Pretty Things" by Bowie. She looks at me (in my head--don't worry, Mom, I'm not hallucinating) and raises one eyebrow and sings "All the strangers came today, and it looks as though they're here to stay." I swear. She's been having a rough time of it, so I guess I should be glad she still has her sense of humor. I have a bit of a crush on her ex-boyfriend and she may be miffed that he's been getting better treatment in some of his scenes than she thinks he deserves. (Oh, right, like none of you have ever fallen in love with your own characters before! No, neither of them are based on real people. Don't go trying to read any gossip into this...) Maybe I need a vacation.

And yes, that's Silly Putty in the picture. That's what my hands do in between typing sentences when I write. My hands need to always be doing something. I guess that's where the knitting comes in.

Hell, I think I might get a crush on your main character! It's that whole "raises one eyebrow" thing....

Have you made any outfits for your doggies yet? I'd love to see some of that. I have two poodles myself, a standard and a miniature (both semi-rescues) and am looking for just the right sweater and bootie pattern.

Me, too! I love Silly Putty! I play with it at work all of the time... I get the strangest looks!
