There was no knitting of wedding jewelry this weekend. There was the wholesale slaughter of a colony of mold in the upstairs bathroom. There was the painting of both bathrooms. There was the painting of the vestibule (red, glorious red. And yes, some folks call it a foyer, but really it's too small to be anything but a vestibule). There was the making of pot after pot of coffee to support Bob and Billy as they rebuilt the support structure for the deck. But there was no knitting of wedding jewelry.

I did get some knitting done at night, but by then I wanted relaxing knitting. Knitting with wire? Not relaxing. You have to coax it, bend it, stretch it. It cuts into your skin a bit. Your hands start to smell like nickels... The results are great; the process? Not so much. So faced with the choice of either silver wire or Alpaca Silk, well...what would you choose?

I'm now about a third of the way through Lara. Loving this pattern almost as much as I love the yarn. Yes, Carolyn, it's another wonky WIP. I'm trusting this one will come together as the Dolman did.

I also got a good bit done on this gift sock. Tania, if by some crazy coincidence you're reading this, yes, this is your purple sock, as promised. Yes, there will be two of them. At some point. Eventually.

Oh...and please remind me to never ever ever do a recreational cruise of eBay while tired and stressed. The result is good, this time, but, well...you never know. More details when the item arrives hopefully in good condition.

Ooh, is it another knitting toy?

I can only imagine how soft Lara is. It's going to be your security sweater.

Great looking socks!

I too must steer clear of internet shopping when stressed, anxious and tired. There's so much reward from that one little click and the prolonged gratification chases away any guilt with an immediate satisfaction (LYS) binge. If I hit elann.com with a case of serious PMS, watch out.

Sounds like you guys got a lot done this weekend.

I'm very impressed by the amazing amount of work you guys are doing on the house. In fact, it makes me tired just thinking about it. Counting the days until I see you!

Oh, that Alpaca Silk. I'm with Em -- it'll be what you wear to sit on the couch and grin at the dogs...
