The new Hold Steady album, Separation Sunday comes out on May 3rd. There've been a few tracks posted here and there online, but I didn't want to share anything that wasn't official, not sure what the band wanted released and what got leaked etc. Well, we have an official preview, courtesy of the label.
Go listen. The link's in the very first sentence there on the homepage.
And remember, as always with The Hold Steady, that you've got got got to listen to the lyrics.

Posted by: carolynAhead of the crowd, I snagged that song off someone's MP3 blog a little while back. Nice!
Posted by: claudiathanks for the heads up - i've been looking forward to getting the record since i saw them at south by southwest. it's not as good as seeing them play, but it's awfully nice.
Posted by: karenMy friend did a powerpoint presentation based on "Charlemagne in Sweatpants" that you might enjoy. (I hear this is the new thing?) It's on her livejournal here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/allegraslade/549670.html
Posted by: susanAwesome! You made me look really cool to my usually much more up to date husband. He thinks I'm on the cutting edge now. Now if we could only get the Hold Steady to play within a hundred miles of Buffalo, I would really be a godess.
