Every mother of an infant has those days.

Sometimes just the sound of the diet coke can opening is enough to start the relaxing!

Oh, no. Not the evil diet Coke. ;-)

Whatever you need to get you through it, honey. Seriously.

It's the breakfast of champions.

What Cassie said. It's too hot to actually touch anyone, but i'm sending you a virtual hug.

It is so hot, I was dreaming of a scotch on the rocks or a gin and tonic. I settled for a towering glass of iced tea. Hang in there.

Aaack! I remember sitting in the car a few years ago when my daughter was young, trying so hard to remember what it was that I was supposed to be doing. I knew it was something I wanted to do, something I had been needing to do for a while, something I should do, but I was just too tired to remember. After wracking my brain for a few minutes, I finally remembered what it was - take a nap!
The next place we stopped I got a big ole' diet coke, and boy was it good.

heat + baby = diet coke + chocolate. Tomorrow is a new day, and hopefully cooler.

When our kids were about four months old one of the moms in my parenting group came to a meeting and said, "No wonder all those women in the fifties were closet alcoholics." I figure if the kid's okay and I'm sober we've had a sucessful day.

Sending over some of our big fat cooling rainclouds for you, plus strength, and thumbs up for being wonderful.

Poor you. I remember those days vividly. Just remember that no matter how bad things get, it's only a stage and when they are teeny like Thumper, things change radically every month or so.

Hugs and big, cool Diet Cokes for you.
This will pass, and you'll look back and laugh...OK, you won't really laugh. Maybe chuckle. Maybe give a sigh of relief that it's not like this anymore, and then you'll smile at how far the two of you have come.
For now, stay cool and enjoy the caffeine.

I feel your pain!! I'm all over the soda, but sadly still have to leave the chocolate alone. This is gonna be a long year ;-)

Oh man, I helped my friend one night with the baby and I have ALL NEW RESPECT for you parenty people. Geez...maybe I'll stick with the dogs and rats. Much less sleep depriving.

The question is, when isn't it one of those days?

Posted by: Michelle

Bubbly caffeine and chocolate, just what the doctor ordered. Sometimes it's crucial to "baby" yourself.

What a beautiful vignette of a mother's neccessities- diet coke, chocolate and blankie!

Posted by: Andrea

Mmm. Chocolate.

Hang in there.
