Dear Knitters,
Thumper here. I'm so excited today, and not just because the Democrats took back the House (and maybe the senate! And bye-bye Rumsfeld! I don't know what it means but I do like the way Mom danced me around the kitchen this morning when she put on NPR.)

Check it out. Mom knitted me a tomato hat.

Can you believe it? I KNOW! It's a hat that looks like a tomato!

She says she's knit so many of these for other people's babies, but that this one is extra special 'cause she made it just for me. And she made it with room to grow, so I can wear it for more than five minutes.
I'm so cute in this hat that I can barely stand it. Behold my cuteness!

I know, I know... almost too much cuteness to bear. I'll put it away now, before you're all overwhelmed.
Yours truly,
Thumper Dogsstealyarn, esq.
Treasure these days and that overwhelming cuteness and bring it back out when your 24 yr old (like mine) wears a full beard, longish hair and plays drums! He is a dear, but my was he a pretty baby. Now I shall continue down memory lane....
Posted by: Mary AliceThat is some seriously apoplexic cuteness. I must go lie down now.
Posted by: LizbonThumper, you look so cute. My mom has not knitted me any vegi hats yet but I was just born on Thursday. I want to learn to smile like you in the last picture.

Posted by: LizbonSorry - didn't mean to double-comment there. Though the sentiment bears repeating.

Wow, that is one happy little guy. And what a great hat!! There's a daycare near my office and someone there had a pumpkin hat, I was thrilled!
Posted by: AmberHe just keeps getting cuter!
Posted by: LaurenArrrrgh, my ovaries! If I wasn't already pregnant I'd demand my husband inseminate me post-haste in the hopes of producing something as cute as this!
Posted by: BerthaDear Thumper,
You are the cutest Esq. that I know. Were all Esquires as cute as you, my life would be infinitely better.
Yours,
Claudia, Esq.
Posted by: claudiaLordy. Thumper, you're gonna break some hearts.
Posted by: CarrieTiny Billy! For some reason in pictures the Billyness comes out even more for me. Little snuggable nugget, when do I get to hug you again?
Posted by: sarahYou are certainly most stylin' in your tomato hat, Thumper.
And you are definitely the cuteness, but Sarah's comment is coming pretty durn close, there. "Snuggable nugget." Gah!

Posted by: DelfOh.My.Goodness! Thumper, you are the cutest little man I have seen all day! That smile...Watch out in about 14 years, Mommy, you'll have to beat the girls off with a stick.
Posted by: JaimiWho's the happiest kid in the world?
Posted by: jackieDeep, resounding sigh.
Posted by: reginaOh my, Thumper! You are just too darn cute for words! I think it's safe to say that you are the cutest little tomato I have ever seen :)

I almost can't stand it!
I swear those pictures just caused me to release an egg.
Wow! Somehow, in a week, he went from looking like a baby to looking like a little person. Or maybe it's just that his eyes are open this time. Anyway, he's adorable!
Posted by: Jennbaby picture war? i can outcute you anytime. i've got a girl, and she does have pink! and orange. but no handknits.
(ps. i did reply. not angling for a response, just checking.)
I would have danced with your mom - I was thrilled too. A celebration worthy of a tomato hat (and maybe a toast with some nice warm milk?).
Posted by: CassieAdorable kid and hat and hooray for thinking people who vote. This is the first day in six years that I've had hope.
Posted by: ElinorOh, he's just so cute. The frosting on a really perfect news days.
Posted by: CaroleWe're doin' the happy dance over here on the West Coast, even though we have to endure four more years of The Governator. As for the terminal cutness, Thumper, I tune in on a daily basis just to get a dose of it.

Posted by: yvetteYou know, this is going to make that donkey jacket just that much more awesome. I'm glad my daughter came into to the world amid change. Just saw the news re. Senate.
Thumper, you are lucky to have such a great mom. I hope my milk can grow a baby half so handsome.
-Petunia (and Lily)

Posted by: AlisonThumper! I am totally overwhelmed by your cuteness. I need to lay down and wait for my silly smile to vanish before I can do anything productive. :)
Posted by: Emmathumper just thumped me one in the ovaries...

Oh! Cubby cheek kisses and nuzzles to that boy. So cute! Love the tomato hat. And he'll keep it on? My boy used to fling his hats off.
Posted by: LaurieMThumper, you are adorable. Thank you for sharing these pictures of yourself this morning - they made me smile. :)
Posted by: Jena (the yarnharpy)Thumper looks fantastic in his new hat! I've been meaning to knit some pumpkin hats for my wee ones...which pattern do you use?
Posted by: melanieHe is so beautiful...my eyes just fill up with tears of happiness when I see a baby like that, don't you? Just happy, chubby, loved - it's such a good sight. My baby is 13 and towers over me now, and pretty regularly I pull out her baby/toddler pictures and just ooh and ahh in amazement over what my body made.
Posted by: JoAnneDear Thumper,
You are so lucky. My mom makes those veggie hats for other babies too; but, she hasn't made me one yet. Maybe now that she has seen how cute you are in your hat she will get to work on a hat for me...I am not sure if I will be able to work the hat as well as you do, you are seriously styling!
Best,
Master Little Sir
Now matter what happens the rest of the day, this smile CAN NOT be wiped off my face! Oh little Thumper! You are one special dude! Please tell your mommy your hat is really cool and it looks very good on you!
Posted by: CarolVery perceptive, Thumper -- I almost can't bear your cuteness. And I love your hat. The whole outfit, in fact.
Posted by: alisonWhat a day brightener! Love the smooshy little cheeks.
Posted by: LeAnnei'm speechless from all this cuteness.
Posted by: kHe's so cute he makes my ovaries ache.
Posted by: RuthEgads! I must have passed out from the cuteness because I awoke on the floor! You got some designer genes! So-freaking-cute. Gah!
Posted by: AndeCripes, what a handsome guy. 'Dikke wangen!' our favourite daycare lady would say, and pinch his gorgeous cheeks.
Also many congratulations on the political changes!! Yay yay Rummy's out yay.
Posted by: marrijeI'm delurking to let you know, Thumper, that I, Elise's mommy, will no longer be able to read this blog while Elise is watching. You are becoming quite a handsome little man, with those cheeks and that smile, and I don't know if I can keep my 7-month old from drooling all over the computer!
Posted by: Juliei have a nephew who had cheeks like that. he's 22 now, still a looker, but at 6'5 and about 140 lbs there's nary a cheek in sight anywhere.
Posted by: eThumper is so adorable, I couldn't stop smiling.
Posted by: JuliePrecious days where you can choose to make your baby look soooo cute. My stroppy 6 year old will now not wear any yarn related garments.
I do have a very old pattern for a Christmas Pudding hat if you are interested.
Posted by: JoToo cute!!! Where did Mom get that pattern?
Posted by: lil rose thornSOO cute. Great job (er, on both the baby and the hat ;-) )
