Stealth Knitting Revealed!

cariKnittyFall06ps305_1.jpg

So now you know what I'd been keeping from you with all that stealth knitting a few months back. I hope you like it! It was absolute hell not telling you about it. Or telling you about the two photo shoots, wearing a sweater in 90 degree heat. Or the saintly patience of photographer Melissa.

I'm posting this quickly from Cody, Wyoming. We're about to head into Yellowstone for some camping. More posts from the road, including bringing you up to date from Austin, through New Mexico and Colorado, and on into Wyoming, in a few days. (Wyoming...oh my god is this place gorgeous...)

Yellowstone awaits. Talk to you in a few days.

WOW - I love it! I've been lurking in your life for a while now but I have tell you how much I love your work!

Posted by: Claire

GORGEOUS!!!! And enjoy Yellowstone, I was there last month. You think Wyoming is pretty? Just wait! Oh, and are you driving through the Gorge in Oregon?

Posted by: Michele

YES!! When I got the email about the new Knitty, I went over to check it out and I was immediately drawn to the thumbnail of your pattern, knowing it was you with your awesome hair before I even clicked! I thought "So THIS was the stealth knitting! Awesome, I LOVE it!

Posted by: Bertha

It's wonderful! Congratulations!

Posted by: Carole

Oh I love it! I immediately checked to see if I have enough appropriate yarn in my stash and I DO!

Posted by: meg

Congratulations! It's a beautiful pattern, I expect it will be on my needles this fall!

Posted by: Emily

Congratulations! I just got done skimming thru the new Knitty and said to myself...she's familiar...Love the pattern.

Posted by: Kris

Congrats! I saw it earlier today and flipped over it. Good for you!

Posted by: knittingnurse

I love it! Congratulations
And happy travels.

Posted by: Risa

Cari, it's beautiful! And you look gorgeous in the pics. Congrats!

Posted by: Carrie

What a great pattern! You should be very proud!

Posted by: loriz

Tussiemussie - you used one of my favorite words! (I'm a sucker for old words. [g]) That is a beautimous cardigan! Must agree with Michelle - Wyoming is beautiful, especially the amazing mountains...but just wait until you approach Oregon from the East. Or the South; whatever, like I remember your exact plans? LOL; not with my memory! If you do come by way of the Gorge, get off the freeway around Hood River and cruise for roadside apple (and other fruit) stands. Just don't buy those damned Red Delicious; the name's a total advertising ploy and oxymoron. Delicious *suck*.

You're driving straight into Indian Summer out here. Gorgeous warm days, occasional showers, cooler nights. And air so bright and clear it's dazzling. Enjoy Wyoming!

Posted by: MonicaPDX

It's really pretty Cari! Congratulations!

Posted by: Karen

Oooh, pretty pretty! Maybe it's time to really learn how to knit.

And a new word learned to boot! Apparently it's not used in the Ozarks, southern California, or Texas... at least not around me.

Posted by: anina

Way cool! Congrats! I think you broke Knitty with such a great pattern - it is going super slow!

Posted by: Natalie

And very nice it is too !
You look gorgeous in your fabulous design. Hope to see them popping up all over knitblogland.

Posted by: Emma

I adore it! A co-worker called me this afternoon as soon as Knitty went up and we were oogling it together. It is beautiful, and it shall be mine. And oh, oh, I just got my Ravelry invite today, so I can make one o' them queue thingys and put it in there! Sweet!

Posted by: Rachel H

Congratulations!!! It's gorgeous!

Posted by: Jill Smith

What a great sweater! Cute and classy. The results of the photo shoot were worth it. The weather here has been gorgeous -- I hope you and your cowboys arrive soon!

Posted by: Helen

Congratulations on your pattern! I love it! I want to start one right now. I am trying so hard to practice project monogamy though. Maybe that will be my motivation to finish up my current WIP.

Isn't Wyoming great? I feel in love with Wyoming when I went there a few times on business.

Posted by: knittripps

Congrats on the sweater! Hope you enjoy Yellowstone - it really is a stunning area!

Posted by: Emily

The sweater is gorgeous, but it's the cherry-red hair I am going gaga over. Nice to see you back to your vibrant self. Have a lovely time in the beautiful West. I loved Wyoming too.

Congratulations! That sweater immediately went on my "Oh, I want to do this" list. It's so pretty.

And the sad thing? I kept looking at your picture and thinking, "Boy, she looks familiar. Where have I seen her before? Has she modeled other stuff on Knitty? Why do I know her?"

And I visit your blog just about every day...(I have a Thumper habit). Loss of memory...such a sad thing.

Such fun to see you & your swell sweater when I opened up the new Knitty! Happy travels ~ you're almost home!

Posted by: Maggi

Well done, Cari! I love your sense of style. My new year's resolution (which I haven't had time to break yet) is to knit out of my stash and buy no new yarn. Fortunately my birthday coincided with new year's and my dad sent me a nice check for knitting supplies. So I get to buy some new yarn since it's my birthday present and some of it is going to make your fab cardigan!

Posted by: Lee

Congrats! What a kick ass sweater! Love it!

Posted by: Kim

I've cast on for Tussie Mussie in Navy wool cotton. I had to have it! It is gorgeous!!

Posted by: elizabeth

Oooh, that's you>??? And your design? How exciting... congratulations! It's been ages since I commented, I know, but I am a semi-regular lurker *grin*

Look at you! Love the victorian-like detail in the sleeves. Muy bonita! Hope you guys are doing well in your new home.

Posted by: reyna

Beautiful sweater! If you get a chance, I'd love to know where those pics were taken - I thought it was a building in brooklyn that I'd photographed, but looking back at them, it isn't. I have a thing for those metal bolted stars...

Thanks!
