I am the very image of will power and restraint

Please note the Vintage kit, still in skeins, posed beside today's paper.

I have not cast on. I have not even wound the yarn. I am terribly impressed with myself.

Here's a close up of that dateline.

The fact that I also haven't yet cast on for David's socks means I'm still at zero rather than ahead of the game, but at least I haven't slipped into the negative. And if I cast on for those kilt hose today, which I fully intend to do in a few minutes, Thumper-nap allowing, well then...

I can totally do this. Those fat little leaf-colored skeins aren't calling to me at all. Not at all.

Good for you! Good luck!

What a sign of the times-- today's paper is on a laptop and not on actual paper :)

You are a better person than I am. I would have ditched hubby's hose and started in on those little tiny leaves. OH..the leaves. Really..you are the model of restraint. I still haven't bought a kit though...so I'm not doing to shabby either...but if I had the yarn in hand. Oh..there would be leaves. :) Good luck!

Resist the call of the leaves! If for no other reason than frankly, Steph gets all smug when she manages to bend people to her will. Ask me how I know.

Since kilt hose will probably take awhile, you could get them cast on and started. Then when you need a break, one little leaf wouldn't hurt. And technically a leaf isn't the same as casting on a sock...

"psst, hey there...we're the leaves....we're calling to you....you can't resist...heck, resistance is futile.....we will assimilate you...."

*bows* to the Master of self control!

Well, I was gonna make Michele's joke, albeit I hadn't thought of adding the Borg Leaf element (nice one!), so I guess I'll just sit over here and think about learning to knit socks. I do own some very pretty sock yarn, after all.

hahaha! that's great. now just send me one million in small, unmarked bills or the yarn gets it!

Stephanie got to me, too. The only way I'm resisting is the kit has not arrived yet.

Well done on resisting the little leaves! Good luck!

Wow! Go, you!

Yeah... but you're so good with a computer and photographs, having a blog and all, how do we know that you didn't digitally alter the photograph?? Hmmmmm.... Seriously though - great project. I foresee a sudden burst in this pattern being knit up all over sockdom.

You can be strong! Is the grey weather still weighing you down? I was going to make cornbread and chili this weekend and knit up a storm by the fire. Enjoy the rain while I can.

I see this as a break before it dries out and I have to clean out the gutters. ;-)

Boy, I wouldn't be able to resist! The kit is really something special.

I think one leaf is only considered swatching....not knitting.

Wow! I love the vintage sock. Lovely colours. I had a look at the Yarn Harlot's site and she is coming along quite nicely. How can you resist starting a new project. I want to start it for you. I may have to purchase myself a kit but I must must finish my Mom's lace poncho. I promised her...almost there almost there. One of these days I will start my own blog and you can peek in my windows to see what I'm knitting. heehee
